Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in healthcare or patient registration preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate office and registration software
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Customer service orientation with problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Meet with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
  • Provide explanation of visit, instructions, and address concerns and questions
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary
  • Escort and transport patients and visitors within facility, which may include a wheelchair or oxygen tank
  • Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow up
  • Ensure all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in registration system with timeliness and accuracy
  • Work independently with critical thinking skills and decisive judgement in a fast-paced environment
