Job Duties
- Meet with patients or caregivers before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation
- Provide explanation of insurance benefits and collections process and address concerns and questions
- Distribute and explain forms, documents and educational handouts to patients or family members
- Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
- Coordinate the up-front collection effort for all scheduled out-patients and in-patient surgical procedure and admissions
- Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the financial, personal, medical or employment status of patients or families
