Job Requirements

  • 2+ years pastry or baking experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity preferred
  • Must have a current valid food handling certification
  • Working knowledge of pastry equipment production schedules and inventory systems
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and standardized instructions accurately
  • Must be reliable organized and able to work under pressure
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English spoken and written
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend reach handle hot equipment and work in varying temperatures
  • Must be able to safely use kitchen tools equipment and sharp utensils

Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise pastry team during daily shifts
  • Oversee production and presentation of all pastry and dessert items ensuring quality consistency and adherence to recipes
  • Check daily prep lists production schedules and prioritize work assignments
  • Train and mentor pastry cooks and new hires ensuring adherence to procedures and safety protocols
  • Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of all equipment work areas and storage facilities
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to inspect kitchen tools and food safety compliance
  • Secure kitchen at the end of shift proper storage sanitation and equipment shutdown
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef and Pastry Chef on seasonal and event-based menu planning
  • Prepare and test new recipes and specialty items including wedding cakes plated desserts and amenities
  • Maintain high standards of food quality portion control and presentation according to resort guidelines
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving supplies
  • Ensure proper storage labeling and rotation FIFO of all ingredients
  • Assist in managing food and labor costs in line with departmental goals
  • Engage with guests when needed for special requests or events
  • Support front-of-house staff with product knowledge and upselling strategies
  • Contribute ideas to boost pastry sales and enhance guest satisfaction
