Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking by portioning, chopping, and storing
  • Remove food from freezer to defrost in refrigerator
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal criteria
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
  • Monitor food quality while preparing meals
  • Test dishes for proper cooking by tasting, smelling, or using utensils
  • Ensure portion sizes, arrangement, and decoration of served food are appropriate
  • Serve food in proper portions and containers
  • Use cooking utensils safely and appropriately
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment
  • Check and ensure appliance and food temperatures are correct
  • Notify manager of any product not meeting specifications
  • Communicate need for assistance during busy periods
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to manager
  • Undergo required safety training and certifications
  • Maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • Greet and recognize guests according to company standards
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers
  • Support team to achieve common goals
  • Listen and respond appropriately to coworker concerns
  • Ensure quality expectations and standards are met
  • Stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
  • Move, lift, carry, push, drag, and place objects up to 10 pounds without help
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors
