Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Willingness to live and work on board a ship for specified durations
- Ability to work seven-day, 70-84 hour work weeks with limited breaks
- Willingness to share a cabin with other crew members
- Willingness to comply with Disney Cruise Line appearance standards
- Commitment to a minimum of 2-3 contracts before seeking transfer or promotion
- Ability to perform safety duties and responsibilities per ship Assembly Plan
- Complete pre-employment medical examination
- Obtain criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
- Compliance with drug/alcohol testing policies
- Flexibility to adapt to shipboard structured lifestyle
- Strong commitment to safety management and public health regulations.
Job Qualifications
- Certification as a Pastry Chef or comparable degree in Culinary Arts
- Minimum five years recent experience as Pastry Chef or Pastry Chef de Partie
- Strong technical knowledge of food and beverage operations on a ship
- Proven history of producing high-quality products
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Commitment to working in a busy, fast-paced, guest-focused environment
- Appreciation for diversity among guests and crew
- Flexibility in work schedule, responsibilities, and locations
- Compliance with Disney Cruise Line appearance standards
- Willingness to share a cabin with other crew members
- Valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (provided by DCL).
Job Duties
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop, maintain, and enhance menus aboard the ship
- Craft an array of desserts, cakes, and pastries that delight guests
- Assist in buffet station setup to ensure exceptional dining experiences
- Guide team members in pastry, cake, and cream preparation
- Ensure adherence to kitchen opening and closing protocols
- Lead training on allergy awareness and dietary considerations
- Supervise preparation of special dietary meals and manage food allergies for guests and crew
- Delegate and monitor kitchen team operational responsibilities
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met, taking corrective action as needed
- Uphold Disney Cruise Line and USPH sanitation standards
- Maintain high standards for menu item presentation and preparation
- Create showpieces, displays, ice creams, and sorbets, accommodating special requests
- Participate in Castaway Cay-related duties and additional operational responsibilities
- Follow all company policies, maritime regulations, and participate in emergency duties as outlined
- Maintain compliance with safety management and public health regulations.
