Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One or more years of pastry experience
  • One or more years of experience in a line cook role or similar position
  • Must be fluent in oral and written English
  • Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, written instructions and to observe the restaurant in dimly lit conditions
  • Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and carry trays
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a stressful environment
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to perform job duties in crowded and noisy situations

Job Qualifications

  • Great attitude and strong commitment to upholding service standards
  • High attention to detail and ability to consistently follow standards and procedures
  • Previous experience in fine dining restaurant kitchens preferred
  • Foundational or advanced knowledge of French pastry techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of wine and spirits is a plus
  • Passion for product and understanding of Colorado growing seasons ideal
  • Appreciation for live music and the performing arts valued
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Servsafe certification required or to be obtained upon hire

Job Duties

  • Dessert and pastry preparation including mixing, baking, plating, and finishing dessert items with precision and attention to detail
  • Dough and batter work including preparing laminated doughs, pâte sucrée, cake batters, tarts, and other foundational pastry elements
  • Chocolate and sugar work crafting garnishes, sauces, and decorative elements to enhance plated desserts
  • Creation and maintenance of frozen desserts such as ice creams and sorbets, alongside complementary sauces
  • Assisting in the baking of house-made bread when required
  • General food preparation including butchery, cooking, baking, and plating all menu items according to recipe specifications
  • Compliance with all health and safety laws at all times
  • Maintaining detailed inventory logs and ensuring consistent storage and labeling in accordance with food service laws
  • Adhering consistently to all quality and cost controls
  • Completing restocking and cleaning duties, performing opening side work as instructed
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards to exceed health board requirements
  • Organizing the station, walk-in, kitchen, and dish room
  • Memorizing and understanding all menu items, recipes, ingredient details, and daily specials
  • Attending pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance communication and product knowledge
  • Communicating customer inquiries and comments accurately and quickly to management
  • Consistent communication with management regarding daily products and tasks
  • Providing 24-48 hour notice to the Chef Team for new product needs
  • Presenting a clean and professional appearance with impeccable personal hygiene
  • Maintaining a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times
  • Performing additional duties as assigned or required by management and promptly managing any arising tasks during shifts.
