Job Requirements

  • At least five years of prior experience in a commercial or production kitchen or other professional cooking or food environment, ideally with a focus in pastry and baking
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and operators
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20 percent of the time
  • Relevant educational background in pastry or food-related fields
  • Strong knowledge of pastry and baking techniques and ingredients

Job Qualifications

  • Pastry or food-related degree preferred such as food science or culinary arts
  • Prior experience as a pastry chef is ideal
  • Demonstrated success communicating food trends and their applications to a wide variety of audiences and platforms including food shows and virtual presentations
  • Knowledge of chocolate, recipes, basic mixing and blending skills
  • Working knowledge of how food ingredients function in pastry and baked goods
  • Strong communication skills with customers and operators

Job Duties

  • Promote the versatility of our pastry solutions to operators
  • Collaborate with sales to determine the best way to highlight and coordinate the pastry and baking portion of vendor presentations and marketing events
  • Heighten awareness of pastry and baking inventory through weekly Hot Sheet for items to focus on and push
  • Work closely with sales and customers to create interest and solve challenges for operators
  • Research and be current on food trends and provide pastry and baking insight both internally and with external customers
  • Participate in food shows, presentations, and other strategic events
