Job Requirements

  • background of at least 2-3 years of progressive pastry experience with 1-2 years of bake shop management experience
  • basic knowledge of p&l, food cost/inventory management, recipe costing, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulations
  • experience across multiple pastry mediums including bread making, sugar artistry, and cake design
  • availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • ability to collaborate effectively with team members
  • passion for pastry operations
  • willingness to act as second-in-command when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of progressive pastry experience with 1-2 years of bake shop management experience preferably in a large volume environment such as a multi-unit hotel or resort
  • basic knowledge of p&l, food cost/inventory management, recipe costing, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulations
  • prior experience across multiple pastry mediums including bread making, sugar artistry, and cake design
  • prior be experience is preferred
  • passion for pastry operations
  • pastry arts or culinary arts degree is a plus
  • prior experience with bake shop/pastry production is helpful
  • bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous

Job Duties

  • work with the pastry team to produce quality pastries and service
  • use proper procedures and techniques for the creation of attractive, professional pastry items
  • inspect all bakery items upon completion to ensure they have been prepared correctly and attractively
  • collaborate effectively with pastry team to foster a positive environment
  • assist in managing day-to-day bake shop operations focusing on conventions pastry production
  • act as second-in-command in the Executive Pastry Chef's absence
  • maintain consistent standards and smooth operations throughout pastry production
