Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work full-time onsite at Gaylord Texan Resort
- Compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage multiple kitchen areas simultaneously
- Skilled in food preparation and kitchen equipment operation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in culinary or related field
- OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years experience
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety standards
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Ability to develop new recipes and food presentations
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets and labor schedules
- Capability to train and mentor employees
- Customer service orientation and problem-solving ability
Job Duties
- Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with food and beverage policies and procedures
- Estimate daily production needs and communicate them to kitchen personnel
- Assist the Executive Chef with kitchen operations and food preparation
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods for regular and special functions
- Develop and create new culinary applications, ideas, and presentations
- Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation regulations
- Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff
- Lead kitchen shifts while preparing food items and fulfilling requests
- Utilize interpersonal skills to lead and motivate kitchen team
- Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Model appropriate workplace behaviors
- Maintain employee productivity levels
- Communicate performance expectations clearly
- Recognize and reward successful performance
