Job Requirements
- Diploma or degree in pastry arts or culinary arts preferred
- Minimum 5-10 years of pastry experience
- At least 2-3 years experience in a luxury or five-star hotel
- Food manager certification required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capability to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and special events
Job Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Pastry Arts / Culinary Arts preferred
- Minimum 5-10 years of pastry experience, with at least 2-3 years in a luxury or five-star hotel
- Strong expertise in chocolate, sugar work, viennoiserie, plated desserts, and artisan baking
- Food Manager Certification required
- Advanced pastry and baking techniques
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Creativity with attention to detail
- Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume luxury environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Create, develop, and execute high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, chocolates, and confections for all food outlets, banquets, events, and room service
- Design seasonal and signature dessert menus aligned with the hotel's luxury brand identity
- Ensure consistent taste, texture, presentation, and portion control
- Oversee production for large-scale banquets, weddings, and VIP functions
- Maintain innovation by staying current with global pastry trends and techniques
- Lead, train, and motivate the pastry team
- Schedule staff efficiently to meet operational needs
- Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing skills development
- Foster a professional, disciplined, and collaborative kitchen environment
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry kitchens and storage areas
- Enforce luxury hotel standards for grooming, discipline, and professionalism
- Manage food costs, waste control, and inventory
- Source premium ingredients and liaise with approved suppliers
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and ordering plans
- Ensure optimal use and maintenance of pastry equipment
- Customize desserts for VIP guests, special dietary requirements, and allergies
- Collaborate with service teams to ensure seamless guest satisfaction
- Perform any other duties as assigned
