Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in pastry or baking roles
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership position within a kitchen
  • Ability to manage budgets and food cost control
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to comply with food safety standards and regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and decoration
  • Leadership and supervisory experience managing kitchen staff
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen safety practices
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in planning food budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating the work of cooks to ensure timely food preparation within budget
  • Interview, train, supervise, coach, counsel and discipline employees with HR and Executive Pastry Chef
  • Produce all pastry goods from scratch as per menu requirements and develop detailed food specifications
  • Maintain food par levels and accurate inventory paperwork
  • Uphold quality and timing standards for delivery and train cooks on pastry techniques
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, and solving problems
  • Manage production, ordering, and amenity needs
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure alignment and quality standards
  • Handle special guest requests related to food allergies, dietary restrictions and occasion amenities
  • Report imperfections and work collaboratively to correct them
  • Ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures including personal hygiene
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
