Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or related field
  • Minimum 4 years experience managing high-volume pastry kitchen
  • Proven leadership skills supervising teams of 10+
  • Strong knowledge of baking procedures and kitchen equipment
  • Familiarity with catering industry trends
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Self-motivated with ability to handle fast-paced environment
  • Ability to reduce waste and meet production deadlines
  • Hands-on approach with strong task execution skills
  • Flexible shift availability including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of HACCP, OSHA, FDA regulations and food safety standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making or related field is a plus
  • Minimum of 4 years managing a high-volume pastry/bakery kitchen
  • Proven leadership of teams of 10 or more members
  • Expertise in product quality, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Strong knowledge of baking procedures including ingredients, measurements, and equipment
  • Familiarity with catering industry trends
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Ability to reduce waste while meeting deadlines
  • Hands-on approach with strong urgency in task execution
  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP, OSHA, FDA regulations and food safety standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Manage pastry production schedules ensuring timely and quality completion
  • Sustain optimal food costs through strategic procurement and waste reduction
  • Implement innovative baking techniques and drive menu innovation
  • Lead and mentor the pastry department fostering collaboration and productivity
  • Oversee training and development of team members aligning growth with department goals
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations in accordance with HACCP, OSHA, and FDA guidelines
  • Resolve operational challenges proactively maintaining smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain high production standards meeting presentation and taste expectations
  • Manage inventory levels coordinating with procurement for timely replenishment
  • Stay ahead of industry trends implementing best practices in pastry operations
  • Support additional tasks and special projects to uphold company standards
