Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or relevant certification
- Minimum of 4 years experience in pastry or bakery kitchen management
- Proven leadership abilities
- Strong knowledge of baking and pastry procedures
- Ability to innovate and implement new techniques
- Skilled in cost control and waste minimization
- Understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, OSHA, FDA)
- Ability to lead, train, and develop a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work different shifts including nights and weekends
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Strong communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, or related field is a plus
- Minimum of 4 years managing a high-volume pastry or bakery kitchen
- Proven leadership supervising teams of 10 or more members
- Expertise in product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Strong knowledge of baking procedures including ingredients, measurements, mixing, equipment, and timing
- Familiarity with catering industry trends
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Ability to manage workloads in fast-paced environments
- Skilled in reducing waste while meeting production deadlines
- Hands-on approach with a strong sense of urgency
- Flexible availability for various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of HACCP, OSHA, FDA regulations, and food safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Manage pastry production schedules, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time while optimizing output and minimizing waste
- Sustain optimal food costs through strategic procurement and waste reduction
- Implement innovative baking techniques across preparation, tempering, baking, and decorating
- Drive menu innovation by analyzing seasonal ingredients, market trends, and customer preferences
- Lead and mentor pastry department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
- Oversee training and development of team members to ensure consistent performance
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations according to HACCP, OSHA, and FDA guidelines
- Proactively resolve operational challenges and maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain high production standards ensuring product quality, presentation, and taste
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment
- Stay ahead of industry trends and implement best practices
- Support special projects and additional tasks as directed by management
