Job Requirements

  • able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • able to grasp, lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
  • able to maneuver effectively around the kitchen, restaurant office, and up/downstairs

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain
  • 2+ years of BOH experience in a bakery, including bread or viennoiserie production
  • prior leadership or shift lead experience strongly preferred
  • strong technical skills in pastry production and a passion for continuous skill development
  • ability to train and motivate teams to consistently produce excellent food
  • organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing production with supervisory duties
  • problem-solving mindset with ability to adapt in a high-volume, high-energy environment
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • must be able to legally work in the United States

Job Duties

  • ensure all product specifications, quality standards, department rules, and procedures are followed by the pastry team
  • act as a working leader on shift, assisting with production, baking, lamination, restocking, cleaning, and organizing as needed
  • partner with the Chef De Cuisine on scheduling, ordering, inventory, and labor management to ensure operational efficiency
  • train, mentor, and develop pastry staff providing consistent feedback and coaching on technique and best practices
  • support recipe testing, development, and product launches, contributing ideas that reflect seasonality and Sightglass's culinary identity
  • identify efficiencies and workflow improvements
  • share recommendations with Chef De Cuisine
  • serve as point of contact for the team when Chef De Cuisine is not on-site
  • maintain clear communication with leadership about department needs
  • collaborate regularly with the Sous Chef on overall menu execution
  • maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards
  • participate in monthly inventory counts and assist with cost control efforts
  • foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture that aligns with company values
  • other duties as assigned
