Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in pastry or bakery operations preferred
- ability to work 45-50 hours per week including weekends and holidays
- ability to stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 30 pounds
- fluency in English

Job Duties
- Acting in a responsible manner that promotes the culture, values and mission of The Salty
- setting an example for the team by maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality and cleanliness
- directing the team to ensure proper training and providing updates as needed
- ensuring all team members uphold The Salty's standards of product quality
- training new team members on their kitchen stations during onboarding
- communicating effectively with other kitchen leaders including the Pastry Chef
- forming a cohesive team environment that promotes growth and accountability with a humanized leadership approach
- praising the team on both small and large victories
- having thorough knowledge of all disciplines in the kitchen to fill in for any team member
- understanding donut quantities needed each day
- maintaining decoration pace and ensuring decorators stay on time
- communicating with FOH manager to adjust daily production quantities
- understanding delivery schedules to ensure timely preparation
- executing special orders and custom menu items
- helping keep team focused and prioritizing kitchen tasks
- maintaining understanding of quality standards for glaze consistency, fillings, flavor, dough texture, and visual aesthetics
- being knowledgeable of all donut dough recipes
- conducting daily donut counts during opening shifts
- alerting Pastry Chef of any discrepancies or inconsistencies
- assisting with prep item quality and quantity control
- maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization
- performing FIFO inventory management
- inputting production quantities into software for planning
- performing inventory as requested by Pastry Chef
- assisting with administrative tasks
- scheduling as needed
- working long periods standing and performing physically demanding tasks
- working weekends and holidays
- communicating fluently in English
- undertaking other related responsibilities as assigned
