Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in kitchen or pastry operations
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending and lifting up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to participate in extensive training programs
- Ability to use production software and tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in kitchen management or pastry sous chef roles
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Knowledge of dough mixing, baking, frying and decoration techniques
- Ability to use production planning software
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to train and mentor team members
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and cleanliness
- Experience in fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environments
Job Duties
- Act in a responsible manner that promotes the culture, values and mission of The Salty
- Set an example for their team by maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality and cleanliness
- Direct the team to ensure proper training and update them as needed of changes
- Ensure all team members uphold Salty's standards of product quality
- Train new team members on their kitchen stations during orientation, onboarding and training
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen leaders including the Pastry Chef
- Form a cohesive team environment that promotes growth and accountability
- Maintain knowledge of all kitchen disciplines to fill in any BOH team member roles
- Manage donut production quantities and maintain decoration pace
- Communicate with front-of-house management to adjust production as necessary
- Ensure timely readiness and delivery of products
- Execute special orders such as custom letters and shapes
- Help maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Use production software to create prep lists and order guides
- Perform inventory and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling
- Promote a positive work environment by praising team achievements and addressing improvements
