Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous baking or cooking experience preferred
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to safely operate mixers, slicers, ovens and other bakery equipment
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance for heavier items
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, odors, fumes and noise
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience baking or cooking in a restaurant, bakery or catering environment preferred
- Experience working in retail and customer service oriented environment preferred
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and assist customers while completing production duties
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Manual dexterity to operate bakery equipment safely
Job Duties
- Adhere to Earth Fare vision, standard operating procedures and merchandising guidelines with an emphasis on customer service, safety and sanitation
- Bake and decorate cakes, cupcakes and other pastries according to Earth Fare Standard Operating Procedures
- Fill par levels established by the Bakery Manager, set and maintain pastry case and sales floor including product, signage, and proper rotation
- Provide excellent customer service at the bakery counter and other areas as needed
- Turn ovens and bakery equipment on and off as required
- Scoop batter for muffins, cookies and breakfast items for following days production
- Package dry case items and wrap pastry trays to ensure freshness and proper storage
- Slice bread for customers as needed
- Participate in scheduled inventory counts and attend required department and store meetings
- Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager
- Maintain an attractive sales floor by implementing Earth Fare merchandising guidelines
- Keep cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bakery department including all fixtures, workstations, freezers, and coolers
