Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bakery or food production experience preferred
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Willingness to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including opening and closing
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Job Qualifications
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service
- Must be able to work independently and within a team
- Must be organized and pay close attention to detail
- Must be able to multi-task and assist customers while completing production duties
- Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instruction
- Must demonstrate manual dexterity with potentially hazardous equipment such as mixers, slicers, and ovens
Job Duties
- Adheres to the Earth Fare vision, standard operating procedures and merchandising guidelines
- Maintains a positive and professional work environment
- Bake and decorate cakes, cupcakes and other pastries according to production guidelines
- Fill par levels established by the Bakery Manager
- Set and maintain pastry case and sales floor including product, signage, proper rotation and freshness
- Provides excellent customer service at the bakery counter and other areas as needed
- Turns ovens and equipment on and off as required
- Scoops batter for muffins, cookies and breakfast items for following days production
- Packages dry case items to move baked goods to sales floor
- Wraps pastry trays to ensure freshness and storage
- Slices bread for customers as needed
- Participates in scheduled inventory counts
- Attends required department and store meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned by Bakery Manager
- Maintains attractive sales floor by implementing merchandising guidelines
- Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the department including fixtures, storage, workstations, freezers, and coolers
