Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of pastry experience
- high school diploma or GED
- culinary degree preferred but not required
- active food handlers card as required by the California Health Department

- excellent baking skills and experience with from scratch production
- strong communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

Job Duties
- Provide the best customer service in a courteous, fast and efficient manner
- accommodate all requests and special needs for guests and clients
- supervise the pastry team to ensure production times are met and in-line with standards and expectations
- train and instruct employees and interns on duties and techniques
- produce a variety of sweet and savory pastries and desserts including cupcakes, cakes, pies, torts, flans, custards, granolas, cookies, pate a choux, cheesecakes, bars and vegan desserts
- ensure pastries and desserts are baked with quality and production goals in mind
- mix and measure according to recipe guidelines
- handle and manipulate ingredients and product from start to finish, including plating and presentation
- collaborate on menus and recipe rotations
- communicate operational tasks and team effectiveness, scheduling, workplace improvements and safety to management
- maintain a clean and organized workspace following all safety and sanitation procedures
- perform other duties as assigned
