Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid food handlers card
  • ability to walk continuously throughout shift
  • ability to stand continuously throughout shift
  • ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid food handlers card
  • customer service experience
  • pastry decorating experience
  • retail experience desirable
  • bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • assist pastry team with preparing desserts and pastries as needed
  • take cake orders, ensure the department has fresh fruits and products, and maintain a fully stocked display case
  • support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce
  • decorate cakes and pastries for customers
  • use artistic skills to create beautiful decorated cakes and pastries and mix colors for icing
  • effectively communicate with management and baking team to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and other employees
  • conduct inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper levels
  • maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • work with various professional bakery equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders
  • take food orders in person and by telephone
  • all other duties as assigned
