Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously during shift
  • Previous experience in pastry decorating or bakery work preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and artistic ability for cake decoration

Job Qualifications

  • Customer service experience
  • Pastry decorating experience
  • Retail experience desirable

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Assist pastry team with preparing desserts and pastries as needed
  • Take cake orders, ensure the department has fresh fruits and products, and maintain a fully stocked display case
  • Support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce
  • Decorate cakes and pastries for customers
  • Use artistic skills to create beautiful decorated cakes and pastries and mix colors for icing
  • Effectively communicate with management and baking team to fulfill and address guest and employee needs
  • Conduct inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper levels
  • Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • Work with professional bakery equipment including heat sources, mixers, and blenders
  • Take food orders in person and by telephone
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
