Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous bakery or pastry experience preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand and walk continuously during shifts
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

Valid Food Handlers Card
Customer service experience desirable
Pastry decorating experience desirable
Retail experience desirable

Job Duties

Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner
Assist Pastry team with preparing desserts and pastries as needed
Take cake orders, ensure the department has fresh fruits and products, and maintain a fully stocked display case
Support team with baking various breads, cookies, and desserts
Decorate cakes and pastries for customers
Use artistic skills to create beautifully decorated cakes and pastries and mix colors for icing
Effectively communicate with management and baking team to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests or other team members
Conduct inventory on a regular basis to ensure proper levels
Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety
Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
Work with various professional bakery equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders
Take food orders in person and by telephone
All other duties as assigned
