Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Must be comfortable with variable schedules and hours that may change weekly
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to comply with food handling and sanitation regulations
  • Must be part of Local 25 Union and abide by union rules
  • Previous experience in pastry or baking is preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or baker preferred
  • Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Food safety certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
  • Stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
