Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience in pastry cooking or related culinary field
  • knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent)
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical stamina to perform standing and manual tasks for extended periods
  • attention to detail and artistic flair
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in fine-dining, luxury hotels, or high-volume bakery environments
  • strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, chocolate work, and dessert presentation
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining precision and attention to detail
  • familiarity with modern dessert trends and plating techniques is a plus
  • flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • culinary or pastry school training preferred
  • food handler certification required

Job Duties

  • Prepare and execute a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and confections according to recipes and production schedules
  • assist in developing and testing new recipes, menu items, and seasonal creations under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef
  • ensure consistency, quality, and presentation in all pastry items served to guests
  • maintain proper storage, rotation, and labeling of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • keep workstations, equipment, and tools clean and sanitized, adhering to food safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent)
  • support pastry team during service periods, banquets, and special events
  • monitor inventory levels and report shortages or quality issues to the Executive Pastry Chef
  • collaborate with culinary and service teams to meet the expectations of a luxury hotel clientele
  • perform any other duties as assigned
