Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- proven experience in pastry cooking or related culinary field
- knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent)
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical stamina to perform standing and manual tasks for extended periods
- attention to detail and artistic flair
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in fine-dining, luxury hotels, or high-volume bakery environments
- strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, chocolate work, and dessert presentation
- ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining precision and attention to detail
- familiarity with modern dessert trends and plating techniques is a plus
- flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- culinary or pastry school training preferred
- food handler certification required
Job Duties
- Prepare and execute a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and confections according to recipes and production schedules
- assist in developing and testing new recipes, menu items, and seasonal creations under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef
- ensure consistency, quality, and presentation in all pastry items served to guests
- maintain proper storage, rotation, and labeling of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- keep workstations, equipment, and tools clean and sanitized, adhering to food safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent)
- support pastry team during service periods, banquets, and special events
- monitor inventory levels and report shortages or quality issues to the Executive Pastry Chef
- collaborate with culinary and service teams to meet the expectations of a luxury hotel clientele
- perform any other duties as assigned
