Job Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the business standing, walking, kneeling, bending for extended periods
  • Ability to make repeating movements with arms, hands, and wrists
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work with hands above shoulder height
  • Ability to regularly move objects up to 50 pounds/25 kilograms
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in circular motion
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and noisy environments
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year experience as a pastry cook
  • Experience in a similar pastry role preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within a team
  • Knowledge of pastry products and dessert preparation
  • Ability to handle dietary restrictions accurately
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Job Duties

  • Follow all prep lists created by pastry chef, sous chef, and executive chef
  • Measure all ingredients properly and strictly follow all recipes
  • Handle all food items and follow DOH guidelines for potentially hazardous food items
  • Properly set up dessert station maintaining all par levels
  • Keep station and all knives, cutting boards, and workstations sanitized
  • Rotate all prep stock and properly label and date all products ensuring FIFO and company standards are met
  • Organize and clean walk-ins
  • Possess in depth knowledge of all pastry products
  • Handle all dietary restrictions
  • Accurately handle all orders from the POS system in a timely manner
  • Communicate all product needs to chef team
  • Report damaged or defective equipment to management
  • Complete all required Jolt checklists
  • Properly label and date all products
  • Complete any needed logs and checklists
  • Work with safety as a priority and follow department and company safety standards
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
