Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- completion of a culinary school program or apprenticeship preferred
- must have one year of previous pastry experience
- must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- the ability to stand for long periods of time
- basic math skills

- must have reliable transportation

Job Duties
- Prepares all plated desserts chocolates confections entremets frozen desserts glazes pies cakes and other bakery items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
- helps set pace and prep lists for the day with pastry staff
- understands and oversees banquet orders bread orders and ordering in absence of executive pastry chef
- oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set up and presentation
- helps maintain the cleanliness of the bake shop
- assists in the fulfillment of wedding cake orders handles special cake shapes and decorations
- assists in production of bread rolls biscuits and muffins to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times
- notifies executive pastry chef in advance of expected product shortages
- requisition supplies as needed to prepare menu items
- ensures that work area is safe and secure adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
- maintains the highest sanitary conditions
- performs all other duties as assigned by employer
