Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • completion of a culinary school program or apprenticeship preferred
  • must have one year of previous pastry experience
  • must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • the ability to stand for long periods of time
  • basic math skills
  • attention to detail
  • must be able to work holidays
  • must have reliable transportation

  • ability to work in a fast-paced upscale hospitality environment
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares all plated desserts chocolates confections entremets frozen desserts glazes pies cakes and other bakery items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
  • helps set pace and prep lists for the day with pastry staff
  • understands and oversees banquet orders bread orders and ordering in absence of executive pastry chef
  • oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set up and presentation
  • helps maintain the cleanliness of the bake shop
  • assists in the fulfillment of wedding cake orders handles special cake shapes and decorations
  • assists in production of bread rolls biscuits and muffins to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times
  • notifies executive pastry chef in advance of expected product shortages
  • requisition supplies as needed to prepare menu items
  • ensures that work area is safe and secure adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
  • maintains the highest sanitary conditions
  • performs all other duties as assigned by employer
