Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • minimum one year food service or related work
  • ability to work as a team member
  • ability to communicate with kitchen staff
  • physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • capacity to stand and be mobile for extended periods
  • ability to work in varying temperatures
  • ability to hear and see properly
  • moderate literacy skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • start food items that are prepared ahead of time without overproducing
  • date all food containers and rotate as per SOP
  • check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup
  • note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • return unused food items to designated storage areas ensuring perishables are covered and dated
  • assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage per SOP
