Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous pastry cook experience
  • Ability to read and understand basic pastry cooking directions
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds on occasion
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies regarding benefits, call-outs, vacation hours, and uniform standards

Job Duties

  • Set up station in time for service according to restaurant guidelines
  • Prepare all pastry items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Pastry Chef or restaurant
  • Restock all items as needed throughout shift and take inventory after service
  • Clean and maintain station practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
  • Properly use and maintain all equipment in station
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Pastry Chef, Sous Chef or chef de partie
