Job Duties

  • Prepares pastries, cakes, cookies, and specialty baked goods according to standardized recipes
  • measure, mix, and bake ingredients following proper techniques to achieve desired taste, texture, and presentation
  • ensure consistent quality, appearance, and portion control for all baked items
  • assist with decorating cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts for events and outlets
  • produce baked goods for hotel restaurants, room service, banquets, buffets, and special functions
  • prepare and plate desserts for large banquet events, meetings, and social functions according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • ensure timely production of baked goods needed for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night service
  • support pastry and culinary teams during high-volume periods and seasonal events
  • maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized baking area, including workstations, ovens, mixers, and storage spaces
  • label, date, and store all baked goods and ingredients correctly using FIFO standards
  • adhere to food safety guidelines, sanitation procedures, and hotel cleanliness standards at all times
  • monitor baking equipment for proper functioning and report maintenance needs promptly
  • contribute ideas for new baked items, seasonal menus, specialty desserts, and buffet presentations
  • assist in testing and refining recipes for consistency and quality
  • support innovative presentation styles and pastry displays for banquets and special events
  • work closely with the Pastry Lead Cook, Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and culinary team to coordinate production schedules
  • communicate ingredient shortages, production delays, or equipment concerns promptly
  • assist in training junior staff on baking techniques and kitchen standards
  • perform other duties as assigned to support culinary operations
  • maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the role
