Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of professional pastry or baking experience
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Ability to work a 8-10 hours shift, 5 days per week
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate decorating tasks
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
- Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and food presentation
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with high level of focus and attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Two years of professional pastry or baking experience in hotel, restaurant, or bakery preferred
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge on pastry techniques, ingredients and equipment
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
- Basic math skills
- Food handler's permit or similar certification as required by local regulations
Job Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastry items including cakes, cookies, plated desserts, breads, petit fours and banquet style desserts
- Follow recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines
- Maintain inventory of prepped ingredients
- Assist in daily production, banquet production and functions, and a la carte service
- Properly label and store ingredients, keeping kitchen area and tools clean
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership
