Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of professional pastry or baking experience
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to work a 8-10 hours shift, 5 days per week
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate decorating tasks
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
  • Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and food presentation
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with high level of focus and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of professional pastry or baking experience in hotel, restaurant, or bakery preferred
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge on pastry techniques, ingredients and equipment
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
  • Basic math skills
  • Food handler's permit or similar certification as required by local regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastry items including cakes, cookies, plated desserts, breads, petit fours and banquet style desserts
  • Follow recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines
  • Maintain inventory of prepped ingredients
  • Assist in daily production, banquet production and functions, and a la carte service
  • Properly label and store ingredients, keeping kitchen area and tools clean
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership
