Job Requirements
- Culinary pastry and baking degree or related training equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title
- Experience within luxury brand markets preferred
- Food Safety Manager Certification required or attained within 30 days
- Ability to manage food, labor, and operating budgets
- Experience leading and mentoring kitchen staff
- Ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- Capability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand for long periods and adapt to variable schedules
Job Qualifications
- Culinary pastry and baking degree or related training equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
- Experience in luxury brand markets preferred
- Food Safety Manager Certification or must be attained within 30 days
- Proven leadership skills including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluation
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to motivate and maintain a cohesive team
- Proficient in cost control and budget management
- Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality
- Maintain integrity of company proprietary information and protect assets
- Manage recipe files including ingredients, portions, and preparation methods
- Set standards and methods for portion control
- Manage budgets for food, labor, and operating expenses
- Develop and follow recipes for desserts, pastries, and breads including special guest requests
- Cost food items and assist executive chef with reports
- Create kitchen labor schedules
- Assist with seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily menu specials
- Monitor execution procedures to ensure quality and consistency
- Conduct training for kitchen staff and hold them accountable
- Hire, coach, counsel, and evaluate staff
- Mentor and act as resource for back-of-house personnel
- Implement and maintain sanitation practices
- Collaborate on menu development, staff training, and photo shoots
- Manage kitchen inventory and orders
- Maintain organized and sanitary work area
- Comply with safety and security policies
- Attend training and meetings
- Perform additional tasks and cross-training as needed
