Job Requirements

  • Culinary education is strongly preferred but several years of commercial cooking experience may substitute
  • previous experience in a pastry kitchen ideally in a high-volume or fine dining environment
  • strong understanding of pastry techniques including baking decorating and plating
  • attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality pastries and desserts
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks effectively
  • excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship

Job Duties

  • Clean and process raw ingredients preparing mise-en-place and bases for pastry items
  • ensure high standards of food hygiene storage and kitchen cleanliness
  • complete Food Safe Training certification
  • prepare consistent high-quality pastry items per guest orders following recipe and presentation standards
  • set up and maintain workstation for breakfast lunch or dinner service prepping only what is needed
  • operate maintain and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers stoves and mixers
  • label rotate and store perishables properly checking stock levels and noting shortages
  • minimize food waste adhering to food cost and usage policies
  • communicate with the Pastry Chef contributing to menu development and recipe creation
