Job Requirements

  • previous experience in baking and pastry preparation
  • ability to follow established recipes accurately
  • attention to detail in plating and presentation
  • strong sanitary and organizational skills
  • capability to work under supervision in a team environment
  • ability to complete production records
  • flexibility to assist in product development on a rotating basis

Job Qualifications

  • hard-working and positive attitude
  • ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • previous experience in a 4 Diamond or 4 Star hotel or restaurant
  • solid knife handling skills
  • knowledge of pastry and baked goods
  • ability to calculate recipe yields, serving sizes, weights and temperature conversions
  • associates degree in baking and pastry is preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries according to established recipes
  • ensure all food items are plated professionally
  • assist in determining the appropriate quantity of baked goods for each food and beverage outlet
  • taste test pastry items from production to ensure consistent quality
  • complete production records accurately and timely
  • assist in developing new products for à la carte and catering menus
  • clean equipment and workstations thoroughly during and after shifts to maintain sanitation
