Job Requirements

  • Six months of pastry experience or recent pastry school graduate
  • full availability to support early morning, mid-shift, evening hours, including weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • teamwork and communication skills
  • union membership or willingness to join a union

Job Qualifications

  • At least six months of pastry experience or recent pastry school graduate
  • prior hotel or large batch production experience preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • strong attention to detail and consistency
  • teamwork skills
  • knowledge of pastry decoration techniques considered a plus
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to follow recipes accurately

Job Duties

  • Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
  • stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
  • develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus as needed
  • practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
  • prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
