Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree in baking and pastry or related hotel/restaurant experience preferred
- basic knowledge of baking techniques, pastry ingredients, and kitchen procedures
- ability to perform fundamental pastry and cooking skills
- strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
- genuine desire to provide outstanding service in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical demands of a kitchen role
- flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
Job Duties
- Prepare pastry and baking items according to established recipes, production guidelines, and Hyatt brand standards
- assist team with daily production for restaurants, banquets, and special events
- execute basic pastry techniques while developing speed, accuracy, and consistency
- work assigned stations independently while following direction and supervision as needed
- maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all pastry ingredients and finished products
- follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
- maintain a clean, organized, and professional pastry work environment
- communicate effectively with pastry leadership and culinary team members
- demonstrate a willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve skills
- support overall kitchen operations and assist with additional tasks as assigned by management
