Job Description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is a historic and legendary beachfront resort located on Coronado Island, just minutes from Downtown San Diego. Established in 1888, it is one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world. Following a $400 million renovation and expansion, the resort now boasts over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas along with 65,000 square feet of banquet space. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a pastry cook or in a bakery setting preferred
  • Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation
  • Ability to follow recipes and adhere to food safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and ensuring production requirements are met for all aspects of banquet, outlet desserts, breads and breakfast pastries
  • Monitor age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
  • Keep all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations
  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
