Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary or pastry experience is preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Handler’s certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to baking
  • Must comply with health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or in a similar culinary role
  • Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry production
  • Ability to follow complex recipes and food safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Culinary school certification or equivalent formal training preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and ensure production requirements are met for banquet, outlet desserts, breads and breakfast pastries
  • Monitor age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
  • Keep all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with health department regulations
  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
