Job Requirements

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree
  • at least 2 years of related work experience
  • knowledge of baking procedures
  • ability to follow recipes and production instructions
  • strong hygiene and food safety practices

  • physical ability to lift and stand for long periods

Job Duties

  • Prepare breads and pastries including doughs and fillings
  • proof, bake, and decorate baked goods appropriately
  • review production sheet to determine daily baked goods variety
  • prepare and cook food following recipes and quality standards
  • maintain kitchen logs for food safety compliance
  • communicate excess food items to Chef for daily specials planning
  • safely use baking and measuring tools and equipment
  • ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene policies
  • monitor kitchen appliance and food temperatures, report issues
  • monitor food quality and portion control throughout shifts
  • assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees
  • serve as a role model
  • follow all company policies including safety and security
  • report accidents and unsafe conditions
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • communicate clearly and professionally
  • develop positive working relationships
  • handle sensitive issues with tact and confidentiality
  • serve as department mentor
  • comply with quality standards
  • perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds and moving on uneven surfaces
  • perform other duties as requested by supervisors
