Job Duties

  • Prepare breads and pastries
  • create doughs and fillings
  • taste, bake, and decorate foods as required
  • follow production schedules to understand daily baked goods needed
  • prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards
  • maintain kitchen records for food safety compliance
  • inform the chef about excess food products for special planning
  • safely and properly use tools, equipment, and appliances for baking
  • ensure food and appliance temperatures are correct and report issues
  • monitor quality and portion sizes throughout shifts
  • assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, advising, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
  • comply with company safety policies and report accidents
  • maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • communicate clearly and professionally including phone protocol
  • cultivate and maintain positive work relationships and support team goals
  • handle sensitive matters with tact and confidentiality
  • serve as a departmental mentor
