Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in baking and pastry
  • solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • excellent attention to detail
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods
  • ability to follow established recipes and instructions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • experience in a 4 diamond or 4 star hotel or restaurant
  • strong knife handling skills
  • knowledge of pastry and baked goods
  • ability to calculate recipe yields, serving sizes, weight and temperature conversions
  • associates degree in baking and pastry preferred
  • positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • passion for creating high-quality pastries and desserts

Job Duties

  • prepare breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries for all food and beverage outlets per established recipes
  • ensure all food items are plated professionally
  • assist in determining appropriate quantity of baked goods for each outlet
  • taste test pastry items to ensure consistent quality
  • complete production records accurately and timely
  • assist in developing new products for a la carte and catering menus
  • clean equipment and workstations thoroughly during and after shifts to maintain sanitation and orderliness
