Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in pastry production in a high-volume environment
  • Knowledge and experience in pastry techniques and cake decorating
  • Ability to work varied schedules including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Positive team attitude
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety standards
  • Knowledge of baking times and commercial equipment
  • Culinary school experience is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in pastry production in a high-volume environment, preferably a hotel or commissary bakery setting
  • Knowledge and experience in various pastry techniques including dough, batter, cakes, cake and pastry finishing, and strong piping skills
  • Previous experience with cake assembly and decorating including layer cakes
  • Previous experience as a pastry line cook or possess pastry and dessert plating skills
  • Knowledge of baking times and commercial pastry equipment
  • Positive, team forward attitude
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that includes early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Pastry or culinary school experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
  • Stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
