Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in pastry production in a high-volume environment, preferably a hotel or commissary bakery setting
- knowledge and experience in various pastry techniques including dough, batter, cakes, cake and pastry finishing, and strong piping skills
- previous experience with cake assembly and decorating including layer cakes
- previous experience as a pastry line cook or possess pastry and dessert plating skills
- knowledge of baking times and commercial pastry equipment
- positive, team forward attitude
- Pastry/Culinary school experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
- maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
- stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
- develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
- practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
- display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
- prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
