Job Requirements

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators
  • at least 1-2 years of pastry cooking experience
  • valid food handling certificate
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent
  • ability to operate pastry equipment safely
  • excellent communication skills
  • willingness to participate in organizational training and development events

Job Qualifications

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators
  • a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook
  • culinary training or apprenticeship certification preferred
  • valid food handling certificate required
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent

Job Duties

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the correct use, care, and maintenance of all pastry equipment and tools
  • operate all equipment safely and only as intended
  • meet regularly with supervisor to review daily assignments, anticipated guest volume, special requests, and other operational updates
  • complete opening and closing duties
  • inspect cleanliness and functionality of all tools, equipment, and supplies
  • review production schedule and par levels
  • establish and prioritize daily prep items
  • prepare all menu items in accordance with standardized recipes and quality standards
  • communicate proactively with the Executive Pastry Chef regarding anticipated product shortages
  • adhere to proper storage procedures and maintain compliance with Health Department regulations and Glen Eyrie standards
  • practice effective waste reduction techniques and assist in maintaining food cost controls
  • participate in on-site learning and development events, cultural development and diversity trainings
  • participate in annual organizational processes
  • submit weekly time worked through Workday Time Tracking system
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned
