Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimal formal experience in baking and pastry arts
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for eight hours or more
- Ability to work in high temperature environments
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
- Ability to understand and execute written and verbal instructions
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
- Must be physically able to perform all essential job functions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to club policies and mission statement
Job Qualifications
- Pursuing a career in pastry
- Minimal formal experience required with strong desire to learn
- Sufficient knowledge and skill in all areas of baking and pastry arts
- Ability to work in a mentally and physically stressful environment
- Ability to multi-task and accept constructive feedback
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Prepare quality baking and pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, cakes, pies, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, confections, displays, and special a la carte items
- Focus on taste, variety, quality, and appearance of all baking and pastry items
- Assist in maintaining bakery case with fresh, innovative, artistic, and quality dessert and bread selections
- Perform daily routine tasks as outlined verbally or in writing via checklists or banquet event orders
- Assist Pastry Chef with designs, setup and decoration of dessert buffet presentations
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized work area
- Properly store and label all food products and maintain organization in storage areas
- Break down workstations and clean the pastry and baking area at the end of shifts
- Work and maintain a professional, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Adhere to the work schedule and club attendance policies
- Communicate professionally and promote teamwork
- Document and report accidents and injuries
- Report maintenance issues and unsafe work conditions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef
- Complete required training and participate in ongoing programs
- Follow Carolina Country Club employee policies and mission statement
- Attend departmental staff meetings
