Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 3 years of experience in pastry preparation
- proficiency in recipe scaling and kitchen management
- ability to work under pressure and flexible schedule
- strong communication skills
- physical stamina to handle the demands of the kitchen environment
- willingness to adhere to safety and sanitation protocols
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role
- strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry arts
- ability to create innovative recipes and dessert presentations
- leadership skills to manage and oversee a team
- good organisational and multitasking abilities
- awareness of food safety and hygiene standards
- culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred
Job Duties
- create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
- prepare, clean, and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
- come up with recipe ideas from scratch
- prepare glazes, fillings, toppings, and other products per company standards and recipes given by the Executive Pastry Chef
- plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
- ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
- calculate and scale recipes to determine the quantities of prep items needed on given production totals
