Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 years of experience in pastry preparation
  • proficiency in recipe scaling and kitchen management
  • ability to work under pressure and flexible schedule
  • strong communication skills
  • physical stamina to handle the demands of the kitchen environment
  • willingness to adhere to safety and sanitation protocols

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role
  • strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry arts
  • ability to create innovative recipes and dessert presentations
  • leadership skills to manage and oversee a team
  • good organisational and multitasking abilities
  • awareness of food safety and hygiene standards
  • culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred

Job Duties

  • create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
  • prepare, clean, and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
  • come up with recipe ideas from scratch
  • prepare glazes, fillings, toppings, and other products per company standards and recipes given by the Executive Pastry Chef
  • plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
  • ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
  • calculate and scale recipes to determine the quantities of prep items needed on given production totals
