Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED recommended but not required
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, talk and hear
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Vision capabilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Adherence to health and safety policies

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in baking and pastry preparation preferred
  • Familiarity with standard recipes and kitchen operations
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Produce quality pastry (baked and non-baked goods)
  • Prepare non-baked goods and finish (filling, decorating, plating, and cutting) baked goods as required
  • Follow standard recipes in cookbooks and function orders
  • Review banquet and restaurant requests by reading function sheets
  • Create special order pastries as requested by customers
  • Maintain work area cleanliness, safety, and readiness
  • Cover and label food according to sanitation standards
  • Stock items for creating and decorating baked/non-baked products
  • Ensure daily product freshness in the pastry station
  • Complete daily job duties including opening and closing checklists and production of daily menu items
  • Communicate needs and requirements to Lead Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, and Sous Chefs
  • Pull supplies from storeroom to produce items
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and regulations with minimal supervision/support
