Hypsi is the signature restaurant located within the new Hotel Daphne in Houston Heights, a vibrant neighborhood known for its rich culture and culinary innovation. This Italian-inspired restaurant is preparing to open its doors and is dedicated to creating a unique dining experience that blends traditional Italian flavors with a modern Houston spirit. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or baker
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Willingness to take direction and learn

  • Experience in baking and pastry arts
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of house-made breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts according to restaurant recipes and standards
  • Produce gelato, sorbet, and ice cream
  • Maintain mise en place and ensure product freshness and quality at all times
  • Operate and maintain bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently
  • Monitor ingredient inventory, assist with ordering, and minimize food waste
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with health and safety regulations
