Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or in a related culinary role
  • Strong understanding of pastry preparation and baking techniques
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Commitment to following food safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment
  • Solid understanding of pastry techniques, including mixing, baking, piping, and decorating
  • A genuine love for culinary experiences and a passion for Japanese cuisine
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Friendly and customer-oriented with a commitment to creating memorable dining experiences

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and production of a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, following recipes and guidelines established by the Head Pastry Chef or Head Chef
  • Execute precise measurements and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in all pastry creations
  • Prepare and assemble components for plated desserts, including sauces, creams, garnishes, and accompaniments
  • Bake, decorate, and finish pastries and desserts with attention to detail and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold Etaru's standards of excellence
