Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in pastry arts or baking preferred
- Ability to follow directions and learn quickly
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and meet driver safety policy requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Culinary or pastry arts coursework preferred but not required
- 1-2 years of experience in pastry arts or baking preferred, culinary school experience acceptable
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to follow directions, learn quickly, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High level of personal accountability and work ethic
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with a team
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to established recipes
- Operate baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofing cabinets
- Assist in decorating cakes, tarts, and plated desserts in line with presentation standards
- Follow recipes and guidelines set by the Pastry Chef and Assistant Pastry Chef to ensure consistency
- Maintain high standards for taste, texture, and appearance
- Perform quality checks throughout and after the preparation process
- Keep the pastry station clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Uphold hygiene and food safety standards at all times
- Wash and sanitize tools, equipment, and work surfaces regularly
- Assist with inventory checks and restocking of pastry ingredients
- Help receive and properly store deliveries
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines, particularly during peak service times
- Assist with mise en place to ensure readiness for daily service and events
- Continue developing skills and knowledge under the guidance of the Pastry Chef and Assistant Pastry Chef
