Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience as a pastry cook or baker
  • Knowledge of culinary baking techniques and kitchen safety standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Capable of working early morning shifts
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • Must pass drug screening, physical exam, tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal background check
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years experience as a pastry cook or baker in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution
  • Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of nutrition and diet
  • Culinary education preferred
  • Prior to beginning work at our community, applicants must complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice (over 18 only)
  • The background search includes minor misdemeanors and DUIs
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preparing quality desserts and pastries per standardized recipes
  • Collaborate with pastry chef to create new and exciting dessert specials to engage the interest of customers
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours and determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus
  • Ensures that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved
  • Follows all safety procedures when handling kitchen equipment and complies with department sanitation standards and personal hygiene/uniform standards
  • Ensure compliance with inventory procedures
  • inform kitchen manager or chef as stock runs low
  • Delivery of desserts to other locations on campus using golf delivery carts
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station
  • Assist in the training of new kitchen staff
  • Assists the pastry chef in other duties as assigned
